An automated panel bender is designed for efficient multi-side bending of sheet metal parts, making it ideal for producing box-shaped components and large panels with consistent accuracy. Built on a high-strength welded frame optimized through finite element analysis, the automatic bending solution maintains stable performance over long-term operation. Through multi-axis synchronized motion and universal bending tools, it completes complex profiles without frequent tool changes, significantly improving workflow continuity. Compared with conventional press brakes, it can increase overall bending efficiency by 3–5 times while reducing energy consumption by up to 50%, and with an integrated suction cup system, it enables precise material feeding and controlled rotation during processing.

Structural Features

      Machine Structure

      The main machine components, including the frame, movable tooling seat, and upper beam assembly, are built from welded steel plate construction. A complete heat treatment process is applied to relieve residual stress, and reinforced rib structures are integrated to enhance stability. Optimized through finite element analysis, the overall structure delivers high strength, rigidity, and long-term operational stability.

    1. Drive System
      Drive System

      The X, Y, Z, and U axes are driven by AC servo motors, directly coupled for high rigidity and smooth, responsive motion, driving the ball screws for continuous transmission.

      The Y and Z axes are equipped with servo motors featuring an automatic holding brake. During power loss, the brake engages immediately to lock the motor shaft, preventing unintended movement and ensuring operational safety.

      C1 Workpiece Rotation Axis

      The C axis uses a rotary servo actuator to achieve both rapid rotation and precise positioning. It offers high rotational accuracy with repeatability up to 5 arc seconds.

      D1 / D2 Positioning Axes

      The D1 and D2 left-right positioning axes are driven by AC servo motors combined with high-precision reducers and synchronized belt transmission. The left and right positioning blocks can move independently to accurately position different workpieces. The positioning blocks feature a lifting mechanism; after positioning is completed, they automatically lower to avoid interference, preventing collisions during workpiece rotation.

      The panel bender is equipped with multifunctional bending tools that allow a wide range of profiles to be formed without tool changes. A single tooling setup can complete multi-side bending in one operation, improving process continuity and efficiency.
